The Library of the Parc Taulí Health Corporation Consortium of Sabadell (CCSPT) is a center open to all the professionals of the Corporation, active, dynamic and innovative, through whose services it allows to share all kinds of information resources in the field of biomedicine.

La mission of the CCSPT Library is to provide scientific information to its professionals, whether online or online, with the aim of obtaining the best possible results in the fields of care, teaching and research. This involves both basic library services (information, loan and consultation) and more specific ones (user training and research advice).

Vision for the future

This Library aims to become an open knowledge center that adapts to the new paradigm of science and new societies, both in content and form. This involves adapting to new trends and responding to them through an increasingly innovative field of knowledge management (fully digital services, support for science and open learning, etc.).

This is an online resource that, through the catalog, allows users to obtain those documents that they have not been able to access by themselves.

If they are not included in the catalog, the interlibrary loan guarantees the exchange of documents between libraries, thus responding to these types of needs.

The Library offers a series of training courses within the Institutional Training Plan (PIF). They are aimed at all users, from basic training in information skills (how and where to search), to the use of a particular tool or resource.

All the professionals of the Parc Taulí with a created user can access the Catalog of Parc Taulí Health Corporation magazines from outside the institution and have a personal repository where they can deposit their PDFs. The New England Journal of Medicine or Jama are some of the journals with the highest impact factor that are included in the catalog.

However, UAB students can use the UAB library catalog, after identifying with your credentials, where you will also find countless quality resources.

Integrated into the catalog, the Library has contracted the main databases of scientific dissemination in the world, such as Clinical Key o Medline Complete.

In addition, access to the platforms is available UpToDate, Web of Science i Dynamed Plus. These are managed by the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Open access to scientific information (Open Access) is an increasingly widespread current within the scientific community. Broadly speaking, it consists of the publication and / or repository of scientific production without restrictions or restrictive use licenses.

By means of an agreement with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, since 2019 the CCSPT Library allows depositing in the Digital Data Repository (DDD) their publications. It is an institutional repository whose purpose is to gather, preserve and disseminate all this production.

When starting research, it is important to know which sources of information are quality (impact, original, reliable ...). From the CCSPT Library we recommend perform bibliographic searches on the main scientific databases (PubMed and Web of Science), as well as at our exclusive resources (catalog, Clinical Key and Medline Complete, among others).

Guides and manuals for use

Apart from all these guides and manuals, each provider of scientific journals and databases offers professional trainers to conduct face-to-face sessions on the use and functionalities of each of them.

The Library offers advice on choosing the magazine to publish. The main criteria to be followed are:

  • Impact factor.
  • Quartile
  • Frequency.
  • Number of articles per year.
  • % rejection.
  • Thematic.
  • Type of reader.

It is also necessary to consider the regulations of each journal, which talk about extension, order of sections, pagination and bibliography. However, it is advisable, wherever possible, to publish in impact factor journals, ideally Quartile 1.

The Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Directorate has one institutional affiliation regulations in order to identify, in a homogeneous way, all the scientific publications generated from any area of the Parc Taulí.
