El Transfusion Laboratory It is divided into two main areas:
- TheTransfusion Area (Blood Deposit) whose main objective is to guarantee the safety of the recipient and ensure the quality of the blood components to be transfused, applying European and Spanish regulations to guarantee a safe, effective and efficient transfusion.
- Laboratory of Immunohematology which supports the transfusion service by identifying the causes and providing solutions to the problems of transfusion incompatibility presented by some patients, as well as the analytical control of pregnant women and the monitoring of those who develop antibodies during pregnancy.Transfusion Laboratory Team

President of the Hospital Blood Transfusion Commission and coordinator of the PBM group.

- Study of phenotypes or genotypes of red blood cells.
- Immunohematological diagnosis of autoimmune hemolytic anemias.
- Diagnosis of autoimmune neutropenia and alloimmune neonatal thrombopenia.
- Program for the collection of cord blood, placenta and other tissues, being responsible for the storage once the extraction has been done until collection.
