Mental Health problems
The World Health Organization foresees that mental health problems will become one of the main health problems in Europe in the near future. Approximately one in four people have a mental health problem at some time during their lives. In this framework, we will describe the most common reasons for consultation at Parc Taulí Mental Health, the main reasons for psychiatric hospitilization, and the most frequent diagnoses at discharge.

Adult Mental Health Center:
Adaptation disorders. Failure to adapt to identifiable psychosocial factors (mourning, divorce, separation, problems at work, economic crises, retirement, failure to achieve personal goals, etc.). These problems lead patients to consult their family doctors, who then decide whether it is necessary to refer them. |
Mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. These should not be confused with normal anxiety and sadness that are inherent in human existence and should never be considered psychiatric diseases. |
Children's and Youth's Mental Health Center:

Another motive for admission is abandonment of basic habits, as can happen, for example in severe depression or in some psychotic disorders.
