The  Consorci Hospitalari del Parc Taulí was created  on December 31,1986 under the guidance of the Health Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Town Council of Sabadell, and the entities that owned the clinics in   Sabadell: the Caixa d'Estalvis de Sabadell, Sabadell Mutual, and  la Fundació Hospital i Casa de Beneficència de Sabadell, which merged in an unprecented decision in which the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona played a key role. 

The  Consorci arose as a  Consortium for the Management of properties ceded in use by the entities, with the following commitments:

• To make the institution viable 

• To maintain a balanced budget

• To be aware of Social Security payments

• To clear up previous debts with the Treasury and Social Security
