Annual economic return
The Institute has transferred various technologies to the market through the creation of spin-offs, licenses to third parties or internal implementations in the hospital that have allowed for an improvement in healthcare activity.
Outstanding projects
ANAIS Medical
The I3PT constitutes this spin-off to bring high-realism medical simulation for interventional procedures closer to professionals
read newsTailor Surgery
This new spin-off incorporated in 2022 offers patient-specific 3D printed surgical guides, which help reduce complexity during surgeries, improve surgeon skills, reduce surgery time and associated costs.
read newsOptimal Lung
OPTIMAL LUNG is deep learning-based diagnostic software to improve the early detection of pulmonary nodules in chest CT and chest X-rays. The software consists of a CT scan tool capable of detecting, characterizing, evaluating and predicting lung nodule growth and malignancy early and a tool to detect lung nodules on otherwise unreported chest radiographs , they would not be detected. It is a collaborative project of Parc Taulí with Vall d'Hebron and Eurecat. In 2022, the team was a finalist in the EIT Health Wild Card 2022 program.
More informationObstetric triage
The I3PT has co-developed with the Treelogic System company an obstetric triage system adapted to the MAT, with the aim of improving the response to the needs of users who go to obstetric emergencies.

ITEMS
The director of the I3PT, Lluís Blanch, has continued with the coordination of the Platform for Dynamization and Innovation of the industrial capacities of the National Health System and its effective transfer to the productive sector (ITEMAS), a position for which he was appointed in January of 2021 and will run until December 2023.
ITEMAS is one of the platforms of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) that supports R+D+i in Biomedicine and Health Sciences. This innovative hub is made up of 18 reference hospitals in the State.
Node Taulí ITEMS
El Node Taulí is one of the 16 health organizations and research institutes funded by the ISCIII within the framework of the PT20 Platform. Each node, which groups a set of attached centers, aims to offer innovation services and project presentation support to the Platform.
The node has 12 affiliated centers:
During 2022, the I3PT has executed the I i II convocation of the Taulí Node Incubation Program aimed at affiliated centers with the aim of promoting innovative culture, improving the efficiency of the innovation process and increasing the impact of participating projects, among others.
