If there is no curative treatment of the Alzheimer's disease and dementias, why advances in having one are relevant easier and more accessible early diagnosis and more non-pharmacological therapies?
In recent years, institutions that promote improvements in the quality of life and increased research resources for people living with dementia have worked to publicize the relevance of having better means that facilitate an early diagnosis.
It may seem contradictory but it is essential to disclose that one early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease allows to improve the treatment and prevention of the disease, and at the same time increase the quality of life of diagnosed people and that of their family caregivers with new technologies and non-pharmacological treatments.
We will talk about all this in the session of III Cycle of Scientific Conferences of the I3PT with Pedro Cano, Director of Strategy, Planning and Organization of Parc Taulí. Cano has worked in the design and development of assistance and care services for the elderly, and has extensive experience in the implementation of transformation and innovation projects for people living with dementia. Specifically, Cano is the promoter of a transformative project promoted by Parc Taulí and financed by the Catalan Health System, which aims to modify and modernize all circuits related to integrated social and health care at home for the elderly.
