About 800 people gathered on Sunday, November 15 in an emotional solidarity concert in support of children with serious illnesses and their families.

Patients, relatives, users and citizens attended the 'Give them a voice' solidarity concert organized by Rotary Club Sabadell in collaboration with Parc Taulí, the Creu Alta School of Music and Sabadell City Council to benefit the 'Social Action of Pediatrics, which aims to promote care, structural, educational and social improvements for our pediatric patients, through various actions and projects.

The money raised will go to the 'Dónal's voice' project aimed at pediatric patients who suffer from chronic and / or complex diseases and who have added significant difficulties such as an alteration in swallowing mechanisms, or an alteration in the organic production systems of the voice, like vocal cord dysfunction.

Solidarity concert

The gala, presented by Sabadell journalist Elisabet Carnicé, featured performances by the Creu Alta School of Music. In the first part, the middle school students of the Creualtenca school, the members of the Vakombà choir, the members of the Catasons parents' choir and the band Vent Sonats, performed 100 Years of Broadway, a collection of the great themes of the musical. American. The second part was reserved for the Vakombà choir, very popular due to its participation in the TV3 program Oh Happy Day! and for his performance at the Sabadell Festival.

In the presentation of the event, the director of the Women's and Child Care Center, Pepi Rivera, explained that "grains of sand" like this help to improve the treatments of patients, but "above all, they put the emphasis on the fact that society wants better health ”and that, as is the case with Parc Taulí, it must be borne in mind that comprehensive care is needed, focusing on both the patient and his environment. For his part, the Mayor of Sabadell, Juli Fernández, called for acts such as this to be “less and less necessary” because “it will mean that the health system has the public resources it needs” and thanked the School of Music High Cross by its work.
