Installation of a solar thermal plant in the Albada building

Within the framework of the European project REESSEPE, and in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, the installation of a solar thermal plant for the production of domestic hot water and heating for the Albada buildings and VII Centenary.

The EU-funded project aims to encourage the use of renewable energy and the efficiency study of three prototypes of solar panels designed by the UPC.
This facility is located on the roof of the Albada building, consists of 27 panels and provides energy savings of 240 thousand KWh per year.

The characteristics of the installation are as follows:

• 24 standard solar panels
• 3 different prototypes of solar panel designed by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)
• 1 heat exchanger of 500 kW of power for heating
• 1 300 kW heat exchanger to support domestic hot water production
• 2 storage tanks of 316 stainless steel with a capacity of 800 liters each
• Remote regulation and monitoring

The annual production of solar energy will be 114.591 kWh of domestic hot water and 127.322 kWh of heating
