Parc Taulí has signed an agreement with the Stanpa Foundation that will offer cancer patients a program that teaches them how to care for their skin and make-up during cancer treatment, with the aim of helping to feel better and to have a more positive attitude towards the disease.
The agreement signed between the two entities will allow the launch of the global program "Get Beautiful, You'll Feel Better" at this hospital, which helps cancer patients regain their image and self-esteem, modified by side effects. of oncological treatments.
Parc Taulí is a center very involved with cancer patients, not only in terms of care, but also in their well-being and quality of life, so it maintains a close relationship and a firm commitment to the associations that work with this purpose. The Parc Onulí Medical Oncology Service treats around 1.600 new cases of cancer each year and carries out around 1.000 treatments at the Oncology Day Hospital. Of these, between 40 and 45% are performed on affected women, mainly , for breast, colon and gynecological cancer.
These workshops are led by the Stanpa Foundation, which coordinates a network of more than 125 professional beauty volunteers, with the collaboration of doctors, oncologists, nurses, psychologists and AECC coordinators ( Catalonia Against Cancer). In each workshop, two expert professionals guide patients through the 12 essential steps to care for and make up their skin during the cancer process. All this with the aim of helping patients take care of their skin, feel better and regain their self-esteem. The Stanpa Foundation has already helped more than 8.000 women with cancer feel better about their appearance in the 7 years of its activity.
