Dr. Enric Casado, rheumatologist at Parc Taulí, is the main promoter of the survey that was launched a few days ago, throughout the state, with the aim of determining the impact of confinement by COVID-19 in the health of women suffering from osteoporosis and who are in treatment.
The study is part of the ECTO project (Effect of Temporary Confinement in Patients with Osteoporosis), and has the scientific endorsement of the Spanish Society for Bone Research and Mineral Metabolism (SEIOMM) and theSpanish Association for the Study of Menopause (AEEM). Parc Taulí also has the approval of the Healthcare Ethics Committee (CEA).

The main goal is to assess the impact of confinement in women with osteoporosis on adherence and compliance with anti-fracture treatment, calcium and vitamin D supplements, and on lifestyle habits (tobacco, alcohol, and diet). We also want to assess the impact of confinement on mental health, overall health and on the falls of women with osteoporosis.
