The reduction in annual CO2 emissions is approximately 562.533 kg, equivalent to the emission of 225 diesel cars with an average consumption of 7 liters / 100 km traveling 15.000 km / year.
The Parc Taulí launched the 'Boilers Project' a year ago in order to change the primary energy from diesel to natural gas and produce hot water for domestic use (taps) and heating. Three boilers have been installed and we now have the results of their functionality.
The real data of the different consumptions in the Taulí building and the Taulí Nou building show that at a technical level the operation of the new facilities has been a success, as it gives a lot of flexibility to modulate the demand to the production, fact that allows to optimize the operation of the boilers. At the economic level it also has a beneficial result, given that the price per kwh obtained is cheaper for gas than for diesel.
The environmental impact related to the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) is very significant. We can say that annually in Parc Taulí we reduce approximately 562.533 Kg CO2 per year. This annual reduction in CO2 emissions is equivalent to the emission of 225 diesel cars with an average consumption of 7 liters / 100 km traveling 15.000 km / year.
The attached table shows consumption histories with a weighted average of the most seasonally stable years.
