Sabadell City Council, the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Parc Taulí Health Corporation (CSPT) and the FUNDIT-ESDi Foundation have today signed a protocol to promote the Urban Campus of Life and Health Sciences in the city . It is a far-reaching project that includes a whole set of training actions, research, innovation and business creation, which will generate knowledge and economic activity and place Sabadell as the epicenter of training, research and entrepreneurship linked to medical sciences.
The protocol was signed by the mayor, Marta Farrés; the rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente; the president of the Consortium Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí, Mariona Creus and the president of the FUNDIT, Juan José Pérez.
The new Urban Campus wants to add the lines of work and the potential that each one of the signatory institutions is carrying out or can develop in the surroundings of the fields of the Health and the Sciences of the Life, promoting at the same time the joint work and the coordination and adding more complicities that lead to new initiatives.
Among the projects that will be carried out within the framework of the new Campus, the old Artèxtil factory will host a large part of the expansion of places in the UAB Nursing degree. In addition to the different projects, the Bosser ships, owned by the Parc Taulí Health Corporation, will be integrated into the new Urban Campus of Life and Health Sciences, where laboratories, research and business spaces will be located. A new element that would be added to other actions already developed by the Taulí such as the services of the UDIAT or the Center for Research and Innovation (I3PT).
