Dr. Oriol Roca i Gas has been a specialist in Intensive Care Medicine at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital since 2007, where he was also the coordinator of the Semicritical Unit. Dr. Roca has a degree in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), a Doctorate in Medicine from the UAB within the Doctoral Program in Internal Medicine, with the qualification of Excellent Cum Laude and Master in Business Management and Administration - EMBA - from EAE Business School.
In the field of teaching, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology at the UAB Faculty of Medicine until January 2010 and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine Department. of Medicine at the UAB, from 2010 to the present. Accreditation as Lecturer by the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia, resident tutor and director of doctoral theses. He also highlights his scientific and research activity with numerous published articles.
In the care aspect, and as a specialist in Intensive Care Medicine, he has focused mainly on all aspects of the mechanical ventilation of critically ill patients and acute respiratory distress syndrome. In this context, he is a member of various national and international scientific societies related to addressing this issue.
