Dr. Assumpta Caixàs, first female professor of Medicine at the UAB at Parc Taulí

Dr. Assumpta Caixàs Pedragós has been appointed professor of Medicine in the specialty of Endocrinology and Nutrition by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). In this way, Dra. Caixàs has become the first female professor at Parc Taulí and the second female professor in this specialty in Catalonia.

With this appointment, Dr. Caixàs becomes the second professional assistant professor at Parc Taulí, active, together with Dr. Xavier Calvet.

Dr. Caixàs is a specialist at the Parc Taulí Endocrinology and Nutrition Service, coordinator of the Metabolism and Digestive research area of ​​the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) and head of the Obesity and Prader Willi syndrome. Last year she was appointed 'ombudsperson', Syndic of Research Grievances of the I3PT. He is a member of different national and international scientific associations.

She is also vice-dean of Academic and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine and coordinator of the Fourth Course of the Degree in Medicine at the UAB.
