Parc Taulí hosts the II Conference of the XUEC on systemic autoimmune minority diseases

The Parc Taulí Auditorium has hosted the II Conference of the XUEC on systemic autoimmune minority diseases which has been a success of participation.
The welcome was given by the Manager of Integrated Health Processes of the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), Assumpta Ricart, and the Director of Assistance and Transversal Services of the Parc Taulí, Rocío Cebrián.
Assumpta Ricart has insisted on the effort of CatSalut "to improve the management of these diseases” from pediatric age to adult. And he recognized that the advances achieved in minority disease networks have been thanks to the collaboration of care centers and the Department of Health. For her part, Dra. Rocío Cebrián has assured that the Parc Taulí "resolutely commits to improving the care of people with minority diseases by promoting their research and with multidisciplinary care, making a smooth transition from pediatric to adult age".
The Conference has been divided into three blocks:
- Round table with patient associations, moderated by Dr. Tarek Carlos Salman from Hospital del Mar and Dr. Albert Selva, from the Vall d'Hebron Hospital. Where the patient's vision has been exposed after 12 months in the Network of Clinical Expertise Units (XUEC) and how the XUEC and patient associations can help each other.
- Information about the XUEC, moderated by Dra. Begoña Marí, Parc Taulí specialist, and Dr. Ivan Castellví, from the Santa Creu i Sant Pau University Hospital. It was explained how to access it and Dr. Carmen Pilar Simeon, Vall d'Hebron Hospital, and Judith Sánchez, from Parc Taulí, explained the protocol for scleroderma in adult patients and in pediatric patients.
- Exhibition of clinical cases, moderated by Dr. Jordi Antón, Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, or Dr. Javier Narváez, Bellvitge University Hospital. Dr. Vera Ortiz, Hospital General de Granollers, explained a case of scleroderma that was difficult to manage. And Dr. Andrea Zacarías, Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Hospital Clínic, has presented the transition from pediatric to adult age.
The II Conference of the XUEC has ended with the round of questions and conclusions of Dr. Jordi Gratacós and Dr. Ricard Cervera, who has taken over the coordination of the XUEC in a day endorsed by theEuropean Reference Networks (ERN ReCONNET).
