2nd edition of the Training Day in Vallès on the comprehensive approach to hidradenitis suppurativa

This morning, the 2nd edition of the Training Day in Vallès on the comprehensive approach to hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) was held in the Parc Taulí Auditorium.
The welcome was given by the director of the Dermatology Service, Dr. Mireia Sàbat, and Dra. Patrícia Garbayo, specialist in this pathology.
The Conference has been divided into two round tables. In the first table, moderated by Dra. Garbayo and Dr. Xavier Cubiró, from the Mollet Health Foundation, talked about the update on etiopathogenesis; spondyloarthritis and other rheumatological diseases in patients; inflammatory bowel disease and its association with hidradenitis suppurativa. And to close this first block, antibiotic therapy in patients with HS.
The second table was moderated by Dr. Antonio Guilabert, from the General Hospital of Granollers, and Dra. Mireia Moreno, rheumatologist and specialist in Hidrosadenitis Suppurativa. This second section of the day discussed HS in pediatric age; the utility of ultrasound in HS patients; on therapeutic clinical novelties; pharmaceutical care within health care for the patient with HS; the surgical treatment of patients with perianal involvement; complex pendants in patients with axillary and groin involvement. And, finally, the psychological impact on patients with hidradenitis suppurativa.
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disease in which recurrent outbreaks of nodules, abscesses and fistulas appear that produce pain, suppuration and/or bad smell, especially in areas of folds, such as the armpits, groin, buttocks, genitals or the region submammary
