The 'Sabadell Corre pels Nens i les Nenes' charity race will celebrate its 7th edition on Sunday, June 16. The date was announced this morning during the presentation press conference held at Parc Taulí. The event was attended by the president of Parc Taulí, Dolors Costa; the mayor of Sabadell, Marta Farrés; the organizer of the Race and promoter of 'Sabadell Corre pels Nens i Nenes', Toni Valverde; and the coordinator of the Neonatology Unit and the Neonatal ICU at Parc Taulí, Mònica Domingo.
The president of Parc Taulí, Dolors Costa, expressed her gratitude to the race organizer and the volunteers and assured that "this race is a tradition in our city. It is more than a race, it is a day of solidarity, family and celebration. A day when young people and children fill the park and prove that Sabadell is a city of solidarity".
The organizer of the race, Toni Valverde has explained that in this edition there will be some modifications "due to the drought situation there will be no foam party, but we are working to offer an alternative and there will also be new things, such as a karate activity". With these changes, the aim is to increase the number of participants and exceed 5.000 participants, as happened before the pandemic.
For her part, the coordinator of the Neonatology Unit, Mònica Domingo, has expressed her satisfaction that the purpose of the race is for the 'Coma Casa' project to renovate the neonatal space because "the arrival of a newborn is a very stressful factor that interferes with parental capacity. From Parc Taulí we work to promote the emotional bond with the newborn, despite admission. To make this process easier for families, we want to offer them a multifunctional, friendly, warm, bright, comfortable space that offers the necessary comforts, just like at home. Everything to improve your stay and the child's recovery". Parc Taulí is a highly complex hospital where every year there are around 2.000 births, of which 250 babies require admission to the Neonatal Unit.
Following this line, the mayor of Sabadell, Marta Farrés, closed the presentation by thanking Toni for his commitment and dedication to the city and Parc Taulí because "the Taulí is and is Sabadell". For this reason, he has encouraged all citizens to participate in the 7th edition of the race 'Sabadell Corre pels Nens i les Nenes'.
As in previous editions, the day of the call will be a great children's and family party with many activities that will be deployed in the different spaces of the Taulí park, where the start and finish of the race will take place, which can be done running, on foot or in a wheelchair. Online registrations are now open at correpelsnensilesnenes.cat.
The six previous editions of this race have always broken record entries, and have already raised more than 160.000 euros, which have been allocated to different charity projects, always linked to children.
