As part of the 9th Congress Xpatient Barcelona 2024, Parc Taulí has hosted the satellite session 'Participation experience at Parc Taulí, an integrated social and healthcare provider.
The head of Patient Experience and Citizen Participation, Víctor Vergés, started the session explaining that "innovation is turning knowledge into value. When we talk about patient experience, this value must be perceived by patients".
The session has been divided into two tables. The first dedicated to 'Patient participation, difficulties and good practices, moderated by the director of Quality, Yolanda Lejardi, who explained that at Parc Taulí "we have experiences from the care line, the teaching area, from patient participation in research lines".
The first patient experience project that has been presented is the current project, the renovation of the newborn family room. Víctor Vergés explained how this project was done with the help of the families, together with a family member who is participating in this project.
Then, Ester Risco, head of Research and Innovation and Home Care, presented the project of a new transitional home care model that has helped to transform home care for the elderly. The Head of Studies and Teaching Management, Josefa Rivera, explained the patient experience training to the residents. For her part, the breast cancer case manager, Àngels Placeres, has presented the project of breast prostheses in 3D technology that has been made with the collaboration of patients.
Finally, the director of Intermediate Care, Marc Moreno presented the survey that was done to patients to make intermediate care more enjoyable, with the Healing Garden project, therapeutic gardens for patients.
The second panel focused on 'Facilitating the dignity and use of the health system', moderated by the Director of Innovation and Projects, Pedro Cano. The first intervention was from the director of Patient Management, Paula Saludes, explaining the administrative liaison project, as a conflict manager in emergencies. The administrative liaison of the Emergency Service, Marta Moreno, has shared her experience in this task.
Then, the professional from the Area of Hospitalization and Psychiatric Emergencies, Ana Marzán, presented home care in mental health, together with a patient who explained her experience as a patient. The member of the Research Ethics Committee of the Parc Taulí, Santiago Alfonso, who also explained his experience.
For their part, the head of the Hospitalization Process, Belen Cochs, and the home hospitalization nurse, Eva Àngels Sánchez, have presented the single window system for home hospitalization.
In addition, the midwife of Parc Taulí and ASSIR Sabadell, Glòria Rebollo, together with a patient from the early discharge program in the puerperium, who explained this program.
To finish, Pedro Cano closed and thanked all the participants and assured that "next year we will be able to share many more experiences. We will all be patients, all the work we do thinking about them, will also serve us as people".
