Parc Taulí has commemorated World Occupational Therapy Day, which took place yesterday, with a stand at the entrance of the hospital where users have been able to learn first-hand what the functions of this care profile are.
Occupational therapists are specialists in the assessment and intervention of the person and their autonomy and occupation in their physical and human environment. To carry out this care goal, the main treatment tool is therapy with meaningful activities, which are those tasks conceived as important for the person in their daily life.
So, the main objective of occupational therapy is to achieve the maximum possible autonomy of the person in their daily occupations and, therefore, in the totality of the activities that a person does throughout his life, such as basic self-care, work or domestic activities.
