Recently, the Unit of Systemic Autoimmune Diseases of the Internal Medicine Service of Parc Taulí has reaccredited the certificate of Excellence Teaching Unit issued for Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI). This re-accreditation has been sent from the Working Group on Systemic Autoimmune Diseases (GEAS) of the SEMI, with the approval of the National Specialty Commission, which guarantees the teaching and care quality of the Unit.
Parc Taulí has had a Unit for Systemic Autoimmune Diseases since 1996 and aims to assist patients with these complex diseases, coordinate actions with other medical specialties and lead research lines and projects together with the nursing team . As a Teaching Unit of Excellence, it can also welcome residents from all over the state who want to specialize in this field of Medicine.
"The reaccreditation is a reflection of the care excellence that guarantees the Unit's quality standards. In addition, it reinforces the Unit's ability to treat comprehensive systemic pathologies," says Dr. Begoña Marí Alfonso, head of the Systemic Autoimmune Diseases Unit of the Internal Medicine service.
Likewise, in 2021 the Department of Health endorsed the joint work of the Internal Medicine Service and the Rheumatology service as Clinical Expertise Unit (UEC) in immune minority diseases of the systemic autoimmune area (XUEC-AIS).
The team of the Systemic Autoimmune Diseases Unit is made up of doctors specializing in comprehensive systemic pathologies and residents.
