The Catalan Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology has chosen Dr. Oriol Gasch new president of the ens. Dr. Gasch was already vice president of the society in the previous term.
Dr. Gasch has been part of the care team at Parc Taulí since 2014. During these years he has participated in the 'Program for optimizing the use of antimicrobials', in the Infection Control team and in the Committee institutional of infections.
He is also part of the teaching team at the Faculty of Medicine of the UAB, in the subjects 'Comprehensive learning of medicine V' and 'Infectious diseases'. And he has participated as a teacher in the master's degree in 'Control of Hospital Infections' taught at the University of Barcelona (UB, IL3) since 2018, and in the official master's degree in Zoonoses and One Health offered by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, since 2020
In the field of research, he has developed his activity within the 'Study Group of Community Infections and related to health care (IRAS), of the I3PT, participating in 71 indexed publications, 46 in first quartile journals. I have supervised three doctoral theses at the UAB Faculty of Medicine.
Dr. Gasch has participated in the Taulí of Directors of the Study Group of Healthcare-Related Infections (GEIRAS-GEIH) (2016-2021), belonging to the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases (SEIMC) and the Catalan Society of Diseases infectious diseases and clinical microbiology (SCMIMC), (2018-2019 and 2022-2024). Since 2018, he has been coordinating the group of bacteremias and infections related to vascular catheters of the VinCat Program (Vigilance of nosocomial infections in Catalonia), of CatSalut. Catalan Health Service.
