The Imaging Unit of the Cardiology service at Parc Taulí has achieved European accreditation from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). A recognition of excellence, the quality of the professionals and the care of patients.
This Unit is a benchmark in the diagnosis of cardiac pathologies. During 2024, more than 7.700 echocardiograms, some of which are highly complex such as transesophageal or stress echocardiograms, to diagnose acute and chronic cardiac pathologies.
Although healthcare activity is the Unit's main job, it is also distinguished by the training of residents, the Cardiology service and other services at Parc Taulí.
Likewise, it also actively participates in scientific research protocols, collaborating with different services at Parc Taulí. And, every year, professionals organize accrediting courses for basic and advanced echocardiography training.
The Imaging Unit of the Cardiology service is made up of Dr. Francesca Castaldo, Dr. Laura Guillamon, Dr. Eva Guillaumet, Dr. Núria Casanovas, Dr. Johnny Gumà and Dr. Mario Sutil; together with the nursing team and assistants who work there. Although the entire Cardiology service team also works there on a regular basis, with the director at the helm, Dr. Antonio Martínez.
