
The 'Sabadell Run for Boys and Girls 2025' Race will benefit the 'UrgenTEA' project to adapt pediatric emergencies for patients with autism spectrum disorders

The 'Sabadell Corre pels Nens i les Nenes' charity race will celebrate its 8th edition on Sunday, May 25th and the money raised will go to the 'UrgentTEA' project, to adapt pediatric emergencies for patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
The event was attended by the president of Parc Taulí, Dolors Costa; the mayor of Sabadell, Marta Farrés; the organizer of the Race and promoter of 'Sabadell Corre pels Nens i Nenes', Toni Valverde; and the director of the Pediatrics service at Parc Taulí, Dr. Raquel Corripio.
The president of Parc Taulí, Dolors Costa, has assured that this race “is a key event for Sabadell society"I"helps bring the hospital closer to the public".
The organizer of the race, Toni Valverde, explained the new features of this new edition such as the recovery of the foam party that could not take place last year due to the drought situation, water activities or the performance of the music group. 80 passengers.
For her part, the director of the Pediatrics service, Dr. Raquel Corripio, explained the importance of the UrgenTEA project, to adapt the spaces and circuits of pediatric emergencies for people with ASD or with some neurodiversity. “Having audiovisual materials and resources to help with the prior preparation of the patient visit; adapting waiting rooms as friendly common spaces; adapting visiting and observation areas; specific signage such as pictograms, can make the stay less stressful for these patients and their families, guaranteeing optimal care.", explained Dr. Corripio
It is estimated that in the reference area of Parc Taulí 3 out of 7 people, 3%, may have ASD or a neurodiversity. Therefore, “The prevention and treatment of these disorders in childhood are very important because they will affect the care of this person when they are adults.”, highlighted the director of the Pediatrics Service.
Finally, the mayor of Sabadell, Marta Farrés, thanked Toni for his commitment and dedication to the city and Parc Taulí because "the commitment and empathy of civil society ends up making realities like these possible."
Both the president of Parc Taulí and the mayor of Sabadell, Dr. Raquel Corripio and Toni Valverde have encouraged the population to participate in the race on May 25th.
As in previous editions, the day of the call will be a great children's and family party with many activities that will be deployed in the different spaces of the Taulí park, where the start and finish of the race will take place, which can be done running, on foot or in a wheelchair.
