Yesterday the 2nd edition of Taulímpics, the welcoming program for first-year residents (R1) of Parc Taulí, began. After the success of the project last year, in this new edition, the Teaching and People departments have decided to divide the R1s into three groups. Each group will participate for a whole day in the different stages of the program.
In this first initial stage, which will be held on June 16, 19 and 20, activities will be carried out aimed at promoting healthy habits: effective strategies for planning meals according to work schedules; effective tools to improve rest in the work and personal context, with the aim of preventing professional burnout and improving general well-being; training techniques to improve posture and body relaxation, reducing musculoskeletal disorders; and offering practical tools to understand the importance of sleep and rest in physical and mental health, identifying the factors that hinder the quality and quantity of sleep and rest.
The next stage is planned to be held during the month of November, where the contents of the session will focus on health promotion, but focusing on the needs detected by the participants themselves, and which will be collected through a survey on the health areas that concern them most or have altered the start of their residency.
At the end of the year, in June, the final stage of the program is planned to be held, which will consist of reinforcing the health habits and good practices acquired during the program.
Taulímpics, a pioneering and successful project
Last year, a new welcome program was launched for first-year residents of Parc Taulí. This initiative was very well received by the small group of R1 residents who participated. Thanks to the activities of the Taulímpics, they have organized their meals better and have become more aware of their bodies to take care of their physical well-being. All participants agreed that this program has helped them connect and help each other during this first year of residence.
