Last Thursday, June 26, the Chronic Pain Unit at Parc Taulí organized the institution's first day focused on intracanal techniques in the treatment of pain. This session was attended by professionals from the Quirónsalud University Hospital in Madrid, the Intermutual Euskadi Hospital and Parc Taulí, as well as academics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The conference, aimed at medical specialists in pain management, presented an opportunity for attendees to expand their knowledge on radiofrequency techniques - increasingly used - and epidural adhesioli for the treatment of refractory lumbar and radicular pain. Within the framework of epidural adhesioli, the conference focused on the epiduroscopy-guided approach, an innovative technique that improves the treatment of epidural fibrosis.
The session was divided into two blocks. On the one hand, several professionals from different hospital centers explained the basics of intracanal techniques. On the other hand, three clinical cases were broadcast live from the central operating room. Likewise, on Friday, June 27, a small group of attendees practiced the techniques on porcine models at the Center for Comparative Medicine and Bioimaging of Catalonia (CMCiB).
The Pain Unit is pleased with the reception of this first course organized by a multidisciplinary team that coordinated sessions of high research and care quality. In addition, attendees were very grateful for the versatility of the course.
