The director of Innovation and Projects at Parc Taulí, Pedro M. Cano Desandes, has been appointed by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the new director general of the Elderly of the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion, a newly created position within the Government.
Pedro M. Cano has been Director of Innovation and Projects since 2024, strengthening the innovation capabilities and development of the four transformative projects of the Catalan Health System led by Parc Taulí (eSalut Mental Catalunya, MACiA Palliative Care, 3D-Adopt and SAD 4.0 Home Care), but previously he had held the position of Director of Strategy, Planning and Organization, being responsible for promoting the creation and definition of new strategic initiatives at Parc Taulí, which must respond to the challenges of new healthcare needs, the increase in chronicity, changes in mental health and a new integrated social and health care for the people we serve.
He was also Director of Projects and Operations at Sabadell Gent Gran, where he led the development of new non-pharmacological therapies and tools to deploy a new model of care and integrated social and health care.
One of the latest projects he has led at Parc Taulí has been the promotion of new means to strengthen Sabadell Gent Gran and the aspect of social services and care for the elderly dependent on Parc Taulí, such as the transformative SAD 4.0 project, a new model of integrated social and health care, with a home and transitional care service for the elderly.
