The Barcelona Medical Association has awarded the Professional Excellence Award in the Hospital Care Medicine category to Dr. Ricard Comet, director of the Internal Medicine service.
Dr. Comet graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB-1993), specialized in Internal Medicine (1998) and Doctor of Medicine from the UAB in 2001. He was an assistant physician in the Emergency Department, in the Hepatology Unit and in the Geriatric Acute Unit of Parc Taulí. He was the medical coordinator of the latter unit from 2009 to 2020. He then headed the Medical Specialties Area and the Socio-Health Area of the hospital. Since 2023 he has been the director of the Internal Medicine service.
He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Medicine at the UAB and a member of the Catalan Society of Internal Medicine.
