This morning, Parc Taulí celebrated the 1st Intermediate Care Day in the Vallès Occidental, where the Terrassa Health Consortium (CST), Mútua Terrassa and the MUTUAM La Creueta Assistance Center also participated.
The conference was very well received, not only among the Corporation's professionals, but also among professionals from other healthcare centers, hospitals and primary care centers, in the Vallès region due to its importance and impact on the healthcare system.
This was evident during the presentation ceremony. The president of Parc Taulí, Dolors Costa, highlighted that the intermediate care “It is a strategic area, due to the aging of the population and the chronicity of pathologies. That is why it is important to create models of care that are integrated into the person.".
For her part, the deputy director of the nursing team, Carme Quiñoa, assured that “We are in a moment of change in the healthcare system. Given the chronicity, complexity and aging of the population, we must rethink the model and role of healthcare professionals."and today has been a turning point for having these spaces to share and learn about successful experiences."
Finally, the director of the health sector of Vallès Occidental Est, Ricard Armengol, acknowledged that we must work differently to face the challenge of aging. In this sense, “Home hospitalization is key”, like the transformative SAD 4.0 project at Parc Taulí, which is in line with the transformation of the healthcare system towards integrated patient care.
The Conference began with the inaugural conference “Intermediate care at the center of the system: person, team and territory”, by Dr. Galdina Valls, operational head of Intermediate Care of the Assistance Area of the Catalan Health Service.
There was then a round table to present different intermediate care projects that are being developed in the different healthcare centers in Vallès.
The Director of Strategy and Quality, Anna Martí, gave the second conference focused on Shared Decision Making and Press, where she highlighted the importance of person-centered care and their active participation in the hospital.

The closing of the day was led by three important professional profiles in intermediate care, the medical head of Intermediate Care at Parc Taulí, Óscar Duems; the head of nursing at Intermediate Care, Núria Collell; and the head of Social Care, Ester Cortés.
