This year, the Diada was celebrated in Sabadell, where professionals from the Pneumology service at Parc Taulí were the organizers, together with the Catalan Society of Pneumology (SOCAP).
The inauguration ceremony was led by the directors of the Diada, Dr. Manel Luján, Dr. Amalia Moreno and Dr. Laura Vigil; the president of SOCAP, Montserrat Vendrell; the president of Parc Taulí, Dolors Costa; and the deputy mayor of Sabadell City Council, Montserrat González.
Taking advantage of the celebration of the meeting in Sabadell, an industrial and textile city, very marked by the consequences of asbestos, the XLIII Pneumological Day focused on pathologies related to asbestos, the central axis of the keynote lecture.
The Day began with the Primary Care Day, much anticipated by local professionals. And on Friday, it was the turn of the Basic Research Day, which is the key element of the scientific content of the Day.
From May 16 to 18, 400 pulmonology professionals, researchers, nurses and respiratory physiotherapists attended to learn about the latest developments in diagnostics, treatments and research in respiratory health.
As a novelty this year, all the people who participated and the citizens were able to visit the sleep bus. A space where they could learn how the sleep units work and what tests are performed on the people who attend.
