Yesterday, the Parc Taulí Auditorium hosted the latest edition of the conference on advanced solutions in wound care; a session that was a great success in terms of participation, bringing together 170 professionals, and served to promote the exchange of knowledge between teams at different healthcare levels committed to caring for people with complex wounds.
Throughout the day, lectures and presentations of clinical cases were held that served to address key aspects of wound care, such as the comprehensive assessment of the person and the wound, as well as the correct selection of dressings and care products, advanced therapies and the management of infection and biofilm. In addition, the need to treat the etiology of wounds was raised to promote complete healing and the monitoring of difficult-to-heal wounds and the need to work with interventions supported by scientific evidence were emphasized.
Otherwise, the session allowed for a space for reflection, scientific updating and collaborative work between hospital and primary care professionals, thus reinforcing the importance of continuity of care and networking to guarantee quality, safe and person-centered care.
The active participation of the attendees was one of the highlights of the meeting. In fact, the shared approach highlighted the importance of coordination circuits between primary and hospital care; one of the essential elements to offer integrated and efficient care.
In this way, the conference consolidates a cooperative working model between the different levels of care, promoting nursing leadership, knowledge transfer and the implementation of evidence-based practices to continue advancing in care excellence.
