The Neurology Service of the Consorci Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí (CCSPT) has been the organizer of the 5th Vallès Conference on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) this year, in collaboration with the Terrassa Health Consortium (CST) and the Mútua University Hospital of Terrassa.
The day, held this Tuesday, was focused on educating patients and their environment about this disease, from a medical and educational perspective. For this reason, Dr. Mariona Hervàs, from the Neurology service at Parc Taulí, gave a review of this disease and its latest developments. For her part, Dr. Marta Fragoso, from the Neurology service at the University Hospital of Terrassa (CST), explained what the treatments are, their duration and when they should be taken, depending on the evolution of the MS.
The second part of the Conference focused on explaining techniques to achieve the well-being of patients. Dr. Laura Casas, neuropsychologist at the Hospital Universitat Mútua de Terrassa, gave different advice to the audience. And the occupational therapist at Parc Taulí, Natàlia Sanz, and Dr. Maria Galindo, from the Medicine and Rehabilitation service, explained what the specific occupational therapy program for people with multiple sclerosis consists of and its benefits.
Finally, there was the participation of a patient with multiple sclerosis, which generated a deep reflection in the Auditorium about the impact that this disease has on the quality of life of those affected.
