Last Friday, the graduation of the first class of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing of the Parc Taulí Teaching Unit took place.
The event was chaired by Ms. Marta Farrés, Mayor of Sabadell, Ms. Dolors Costa, President of the Consorci Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí (CCSPT), Dr. Mireia Subirana, Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Dr. Gianluigi Caltabiano, Vice-Dean of Economics and Planning of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Dr. Xavier Serra, Coordinator of the Parc Taulí Teaching Unit, and Ms. Mireia Balza, Coordinator of the Teaching Unit's Practicum.
The students then took the floor to explain their academic and practical journey. Finally, the event concluded with the viewing of a video and the throwing of caps.
In total, 63 students celebrated the end of their training in a day accompanied by family, friends and teachers. In fact, half of the graduates will join the CCSPT staff.
“Most of the nurses have been able to choose which area of the hospital they want to join thanks to the full immersion in the center that they have experienced throughout the last three years of the degree”, says Mireia Subirana, head of the Nursing Degree studies.
Likewise, the nurses positively evaluate their time at the Teaching Unit of Parc Taulí, as they have been able to “learn from professionals with high quality care”, as stated by graduate Andrea Romero. In addition, they highlight “the fluid integration between students and healthcare professionals from all areas of the hospital”.
