Clinical simulation is one of the fundamental pillars in the continuous training of healthcare professionals. Following this line, the Parc Taulí Healthcare Corporation Consortium has the Clinical Simulation Laboratory (SimPT); a physical space intended for the training of physicians that they can access throughout their professional development.

With the aim of promoting clinical simulation, Parc Taulí is part of the Collaborative Network of Clinical Simulation for Quality and Patient Safety in Healthcare Centers (SimQualNet). This is a grouping that aims to join efforts to promote the implementation and guarantee the excellence of simulation programs in hospital centers.

In fact, Parc Taulí hosted the network's last session today. Throughout the morning, several professionals from other member hospitals of the group were able to learn first-hand about the various projects being developed at SimPT and visited the facilities.

"We are committed to consolidating clinical simulation within the training of hospital professionals. To do this, we work together with the 3D Laboratory of the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute with whom we develop the simulation models", explains Dr. Marcos Pérez, laboratory coordinator.

Afterwards, the attendees began a working session in which they began to establish common strategic lines for all members of the network. Finally, Dr. Pérez concluded that the network is key “to establish synergies that promote research and innovation within the framework of hospital simulation”.

A group with a desire to grow

Since October 2025, Parc Taulí has been part of the Collaborative Network of Clinical Simulation for Quality and Patient Safety in Healthcare Centers (SimQualNet), made up of ten Catalan and Balearic hospital centers with a consolidated track record in clinical simulation, together with the Chair of Simulation and Patient Safety at the University of Vic.

Specifically, Parc Taulí is part of the network with the Terrassa Health Consortium, the Salut Empordà Foundation, the Inca Hospital (Mallorca), the Doctor Josep Trueta University Hospital (Girona), the Mútua Terrassa University Hospital, the Baix Empordà Integrated Health Services (SSIBE), the Joan XXIII Hospital (Palamós), the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital of the Althaia Foundation, the Manresa University Network and the Son Espases Hospital (Mallorca).

Overall, they seek to go beyond simulation as a training tool and are committed to creating programs that generate a real impact within clinical practice.
