Second Annual Meeting of the CIBERSAM Linked Group Neurosciences Parc Taulí and the I Collaborative Workshop of the Translational Neuroscience Research Unit I3PT-INc-UAB

On July 5, the Second Annual Meeting of the Parc Taulí Neuroscience Group, linked to CIBERSAM led by Dr. Diego Palao, executive director of Mental Health. On the same date the I Collaborative Workshop between clinical researchers from the Parc Taulí Corporation (CPT) and basic researchers from the Institute of Neurosciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), to launch the Translational Neuroscience Research Unit I3PT-INc-UAB.

The aim of this experience made possible the creation of a collaborative environment for the meeting of synergies between clinical and basic researchers of both institutions. The working groups were divided into the three areas of knowledge: Mental Health, Neurology and Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Rare Diseases. The participation of professionals from the Parc Taulí Hospital, the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) and the UAB Institute of Neurosciences (INc) was very high and very active in the search for opportunities to develop joint projects in neuroscience, with a very satisfactory final assessment.

This experience aims to be the first in a series of initiatives to promote transversal research and excellence in Neurosciences, which consolidate the links in research between the I3PT and the INCI, promoting the development of new joint projects with the focus placed on improving the health outcomes of affected people. The new Translational Neuroscience Unit can become a powerful platform that conveys the results of laboratory knowledge to patients.
