Presentation and objectives

The Parc Taulí Polytraumatic Patient Care Committee was born from the need for care cohesive and optimize communication and collaboration between the different specialists involved in the care of the polytrauma patient.

Polytrauma patients are cared for in different phases and by multiple specialists. This diversity requires, among others:

  • Una close communication between the different services.
  • Common action protocols available to all professionals.
  • Educational and scientific update in the management of polytrauma patients.

Goal

The Committee works to coordinate and optimize the existing tasks between the different specialists, with the purpose de improve la care quality of these patients i reduce high mortality which can be presented by severe polytrauma.

About us

About us

The Committee is made up of two multidisciplinary groups, which meet once a month and once a quarter/quarter, respectively.

What we do

Assistance activity

The monthly committee coordinates and organizes one annual mortality session with the quarterly/quarterly group where all the year's mortality cases are presented, analyzed and discussed.

Elaboration of clinical guidelines and work protocols, and publication on the corporate intranet available to specialists who require them.

Review of material available in the polytrauma patient care box so that it is always up to date.

Initiation of debriefing after initial care of the polytrauma patient.

work in points for improvement, proposed changes, problems that may arise in everyday life, etc.

New work proposals: video review, etc.

Training activity

Coordination and organization of the multidisciplinary training sessions which are held monthly at Parc Taulí. Based on the work of the Committee, it has been possible to make these sessions more visible through live recordings of them.

Coordination and organization of morbidity sessions in the middle of the multidisciplinary training sessions.

Maintenance of courses carried out in our center aimed at the best training in the management and care of polytrauma patients: ATLS, DSTC and CRM. Multiple specialists who are part of the Committee intervene as instructors.

New work proposals: simulation in the care box for polytrauma patients, etc.

Scientific activity

Creating a record of anonymous, secure and unique data.

Annual review of research projects, publications, etc.

Proposal of multidisciplinary research projects.
