Thinking and learning skills

The ability to think and learn is essential throughout the child's developmental process; it can be learned in different ways: by standing next to someone who knows more about it and teaching it, by paying attention to what others are doing, by trying and making mistakes, and so on. In the face of any learning, a process of reflection and thought will always be needed.

It is important for the adult to value this process by giving opportunities, time, role models and recognition to the child's efforts by encouraging, supporting and accompanying the child. Success is the process, not the result. It is necessary to promote activities that increase the ability to stop, look, listen and think before acting.

Games

Executive functions are the skills needed to acquire any learning: memory, planning, flexibility, decision making, and so on. The evocation of concepts and the access to the lexicon allow us to check if the child has acquired the necessary vocabulary to be able to build communication.
