We believe that the model of care for minority diseases in Parc Taulí must give priority to a multidisciplinary care system that facilitates the enhancement and improvement of knowledge and expertise, the quality and results of care, in an integrated care network presided over by the principles of equity in access and equity in outcomes and with the patient’s voice as the main and participatory axis in the organization.
Excellence in the care of minority diseases requires the efficient coordination of a good multidisciplinary team, and in this sense Parc Taulí has a unique and advantageous structure in tackling these diseases:
- First of all, we have a recognized Genetics Service capable of diagnosing and responding in terms of clinic, laboratory and genetic counseling.
- Secondly, we have well-coordinated multidisciplinary teams where, unlike the rest, we have an integrated Child Development and Early Care Center (CDIAP) and a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center (CSMIJ). This means that our professionals from this indispensable center, together with the multidisciplinary team of the hospital, work together in the same spaces and therefore efficiency is maximized, as it will not be necessary to coordinate circuits and protocols with other centers. externs.
- Thirdly, the importance of a good transition from the pediatric patient to the adult patient should be emphasized.
