Otorhinolaryngology is the medical and surgical specialty that deals with disorders of the ear, the upper aerodigestive tract (mouth, nose, pharynx, larynx), the related facial and cervical structures and the functions that perform, that is to say hearing, voice, speech, breathing, smelling and swallowing.
At the Otorhinolaryngology Service of the Sabadell Hospital, we treat patients from babies to the elderly, as the pathologies treated by the specialty are very diverse and affect all ages.
We study and treat medical and surgical:
- Infections, trauma and malformations of the ear, nose and paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands and cervico-facial structures.
- Benign and malignant tumors of these organs.
- Voice disorders.
- Swallowing disorders.
- Hearing disorders.
- Disorders of nasal ventilation.
- Vertigo.
- Pathology of the snoring.
- Multidisciplinary care with neurosurgery in the treatment of anterior skull base tumors.
- Multidisciplinary care with ophthalmology in the treatment of lacrimal pathology using dacryocystorhinostomies.
- Collaboration with the support services at CREDA schools, in the diagnosis, treatment and support of children with hearing difficulties.
- Multidisciplinary care with pulmonology in the treatment of upper airway pathology and immunotherapy.
