The Pneumology Service acts as a reference for about half a million people in the Vallés Occidental region, and its care work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders, in the field of acute patient care hospitalized, and chronic in day hospital and outpatient clinic. The Service consists of units for ventilatory sleep disorders, non-invasive ventilation, interventional endoscopy, respiratory allergy, interstitial diseases, and lung cancer. In research, it is a Group Recognized by the Government of Catalonia and is part of the Ciberes network of the Carlos III Health Institute, with lines of research in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung cancer, respiratory infections, sleep and ventilation.
