Spaces and equipment

Simulation area

Space for the practice of clinical skills and procedures. It can be adapted to the clinical space you want to simulate: an operating room, an emergency room, an ICU or those other spaces that require the objectives of the course.

Procedures of varying complexity can be developed, from simple techniques practiced by a single person, such as punctures, more complex techniques practiced in groups or alone, such as central venous access, immobilization, airway control, fibrobronchoscopies or very complex techniques that they require the formation of a team, the distribution of tasks and highly organized work such as the SVA, SVAT, SVI, SVAP.

The development of all techniques and simulations is done with high-tech mannequins and, if the objectives of the course so require, there is the option of using simulated patients (actors).

This space is equipped with a system of video and audio cameras, which allow to record and visualize in situ the cases that are carried out, and is isolated from the rest of the Parc Taulí Simulation spaces for the correct development of the simulation activities. , without interference.

Multifunction classroom

Space intended mainly for the observation, through audiovisual support, of the development of the cases that are being carried out in the simulation box.

It is the place where one of the most important phases of simulation-based medical education takes place, the debriefing or sharing of the evolution of the techniques or cases, all by means of the reproduction of recorded video of the box of simulation, timed in real time each one of the actions that realize.

It is an adaptable space for group activities, with the installation of simulation equipment for laparoscopy techniques, airway management using a fibrobronchoscope or simulation of a traffic accident.

Theoretical presentations are made prior to the simulation, using innovative means to make the teachers' presentations more enriching.

The multifunctional classroom has five individualized workstations, which also allow microsimulation, with multimedia programs and state-of-the-art software.

Control area

Space from which all the coordination and audiovisual control of all the Parc Taulí Simulation spaces is carried out, to supervise and / or direct the clinical simulation and to support the teachers / tutors of the courses.

It has advanced computer, audio and video equipment to display the images of the simulation box. The mannequins are handled with a high-tech computer system.
