After the success achieved with the two previous editions, we are preparing for it Third Panel Health Artificial Intelligence Symposium, the 3er THAIS, and we would like to invite you to share our experience at the Parc Taulí University Hospital, in Sabadell, Barcelona, on June 11 and 12, 2024. The objective of THAIS, organized by the Mixed Unit of the Clinical Nephrology group, Interventionist and Computational Center (CICN) of the Instituto Investigación e Innovación del Parc Taulí (I3PT) and the School of Engineering of Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, will provide extensive coverage in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Health from a perspective oriented to the professionals of the environment sanitary

The objectives it aims to cover are:

  1. Answer the question of the impact it will have on attendance
  2. What are the challenges to take into account when doing research
  3. How far can this technology take us?
  4. Do we know its risks and limitations?
  5. Why should we think about "innovation mode"?

The perspective of the meeting is based on a multidisciplinary approach, with the participation of clinicians, engineers, specialists in health technology, ethics and law, managers of public and private entities and experts in economics. The topics will be presented in round tables by experts in the subjects with discussion panels to encourage interdisciplinary interactions and facilitate a teaching vision that is critical at the same time. The main challenges, opportunities and latest hot topics will be discussed.

The presentation of papers will also be accommodated, to give the opportunity to show the experience of the groups that are working in the area.

On the other hand, this year one will be held Pre-Symposium course on June 10, which will aim to review intensively the main aspects to be known about AI in Health, understand the steps and needs when using this technology and teach the principles necessary to do research.

Main topics of the Symposium:

  • Are you looking for the standardization of the use of Artificial Intelligence in Health?
  • Health data: Is governance the secret?
  • The European Data Space has arrived: And now... what?
  • Do we know how to research in Artificial Intelligence?
  • What does it mean to validate an Artificial Intelligence model in health?
  • Clinical application of AI: Are we ready?
  • The Cloud: Great advantages and... Risks?
  • The perfect DataSet: Does it exist or should it be created?
  • The new European Artificial Intelligence law: Do we know what it entails?

  • The future of AI: How far can we go?
  • AI risks: Who assumes them?
  • AI and ethics: Does the perfect balance exist?
  • Innovation + AI = Entrepreneurship, but... How is it done?

We hope to provide you with a good, comfortable environment to learn and share your experience, as well as to enjoy interdisciplinary interactions for a better understanding of the approach to Artificial Intelligence in the Health sector.

Welcome to THAIS.
