After the success achieved with the two previous editions, it has been celebrated with a new success Third Panel Health Artificial Intelligence Symposium, the 3er THAI (#THAIS2024), held at the Parc Taulí Hospital Universitari, in Sabadell, Barcelona, on June 11 and 12, 2024. The objective of THAIS, organized by the Mixed Unit of the Clinical, Interventional and Computational Nephrology group (CICN) of the Research Institute and Innovación del Parc Taulí (I3PT) and the School of Engineering of Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, will give extensive coverage to the field of Artificial Intelligence in Health from a perspective oriented to professionals in the healthcare environment.

  • Registration is available for the recorded version of the Symposium

The objectives it aims to cover are:

  1. Answer the question of the impact it will have on attendance
  2. What are the challenges to take into account when doing research
  3. How far can this technology take us?
  4. Do we know its risks and limitations?
  5. Why should we think about "innovation mode"?

The perspective of the meeting was based on a multidisciplinary approach, with the participation of clinicians, engineers, specialists in health technology, ethics and law, managers of public and private entities and experts in economics. The topics have been presented in round tables by experts in the subjects with discussion panels to encourage interdisciplinary interactions and facilitate a teaching vision that is critical at the same time. The main challenges, opportunities and latest hot topics have been discussed.

It has also given place to the presentation of communications, to give the opportunity to show the experience of the groups that are working in the area.

On the other hand, this year one has been made Pre-Symposium course on June 10, which has as its objective to review in an intensive way the main aspects to be known about AI in Health, understand the steps and needs when this technology is used and teach the principles necessary to do research.

Main topics of the Symposium:

  • Are you looking for the standardization of the use of Artificial Intelligence in Health?
  • Health data: Is governance the secret?
  • The European Data Space has arrived: And now... what?
  • Do we know how to research in Artificial Intelligence?
  • What does it mean to validate an Artificial Intelligence model in health?
  • Clinical application of AI: Are we ready?
  • The Cloud: Great advantages and... Risks?
  • The perfect DataSet: Does it exist or should it be created?
  • The new European Artificial Intelligence law: Do we know what it entails?
  • Generative AI: Challenges and opportunities
  • The future of AI: How far can we go?
  • AI risks: Who assumes them?
  • AI and ethics: Does the perfect balance exist?
  • Innovation + AI = Entrepreneurship, but... How is it done?

We are already preparing the 2025 edition that will be held on June 16-18. On the 16th the pre-Symposium event and on the 17th and 18th the Symposium. Reserve the dates!

We hope to offer you, as always, a good, comfortable environment to learn and share your experience, as well as to enjoy interdisciplinary interactions for a better understanding of the approach to Artificial Intelligence in the Health sector.

Welcome to THAIS.
