The Collider Program 2019 is an initiative promoted by The Mobile World Capital and the Generalitat of Catalunya to bring valuable research into the market. The last edition of the program contributed to the constitution of three new start-ups.
The Collider is an annual business acceleration process in which entrepreneurs and researchers are combined in order to create start-up teams. It should be noted that 30% of the projects in this program become companies.
The inventor of the Safety HUG is Javier Perez Acebo, an emergency nurse from Parc Taulí with more than 15 years of experience. His motivation is to increase the security of the agitated patient through the creation of a new device to monitor contained patients.
The Safety HUG is a sensorized harness that brings objective data in the contention management. The objective of team is to validate the device during the 2020 and lunch the company. The Team is a combination of professionals between Parc Taulí and Eurecat Technology Center. The team background is in Engineering, Nursery, Business developers, Pharmacy, Psychology and Biology.
The Safety HUG has been selected among other projects like FARMALARM (VHIR), FOOXY (UPC), HEALTH CIRCUIT (IDIBAPS), HEALTHXCODE (UPC), NAOTherapist (UC3M), TEAF (IDIBAPS), COOLING (ICN2), CASE (IREC) , CDEM (UB), ETEXTILE (UPC), IPOLE (CTTC), LINDA (IFAE), NEUTRON (I2CAT FOUNDATION), TCAR (UPC).
