I3PT participates in the European EcoQUIP + project for efficiency, quality and environmental sustainability in hospitals

The Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) and the Catalan Agency for Quality and Health Assessment (AQuAS) are participating in the European EcoQUIP + project. The aim of the project is, within a framework of innovation public procurement, to find solutions that increase efficiency, quality and environmental sustainability in hospitals.
I3PT, with the support of AQuAS, has published the document 'Statement of Demand' of its future innovative purchase which aims to 3D customization of prosthesis replacement so that they are tailor-made for each patient. This paper describes the current situation in prosthesis replacement customization and its limitations, why innovation is needed, and what requirements the solution should have.
Personalized medicine is becoming more common in clinical practice. It has been shown to provide both patients and healthcare professionals with considerable benefits, such as increased satisfaction, as well as the ability to improve the efficiency of the health system, reducing costs and avoiding postoperative complications.
