Dr. Romaní, dermatologist of theParc Taulí University Hospital and a member of the Inflammatory joint disease, bone metabolism and systemic autoimmune diseases ofParc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT), has collected this award during the 48th National Congress of Dermatology and Venereology held in Bilbao last Friday, December 3.
As explained by Romaní, principal investigator of the study, the article published in the journal Dermosyphilographic acts "described for the first time a cutaneous manifestation of coronavirus infection that provided insight into the pathophysiology of COVID infection and why some people are resistant to the presentation of the virus to the adaptive immune system".
For the scientific study, Dr. Romaní was in collaboration with the dermatologists Miquel Casals and Núria Riera and the infectologist Sònia Calzado from Parc Taulí, and with the dermatology and infectious diseases research groups of Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital.
