
The I3PT receives accreditation from the Ministry as a Health Research Institute

- The Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute has received this recognition of excellence from the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, after successfully passing the audit process of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII)
- The recognition was publicly announced this morning by the Minister of Health, Manel Balcells, at an event to present the 2022-2023 investments at Parc Taulí
The Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) has achieved accreditation as a Health Research Institute which grants the Ministry of Science and Innovation, through the Carlos III Health Institute.
It is one of the most prestigious accreditations and most valuable given to health research entities, and it is one recognition of excellence of the scientific results, and of the beneficial returns in the welfare, social and economic field of the research and innovation carried out by the entity. Currently, there are 35 Health Research Institutes accredited by the ISCIII, of which 8 are in Catalonia.
El director of the I3PT, Lluís Blanch, has described this ephemeris as "one of the most important milestones achieved by the Institute in recent years". "This accreditation was a strategic objective of the I3PT pursued by the institution, since its achievement places the institute on the map of centers of excellence in health research in Spain", explained Blanch, who added: "Also, it will allow us access to sources of exclusive funding for accredited institutions, and this is essential for the sustainable and sustained growth of I3PT”.
La director of management of the I3PT, Glòria Palomar, emphasized that this recognition is strategic "to achieve our goal of making the Institute an attractive biomedical research entity for attract, promote and retain talent".
"I would like to emphasize that the audit team has unanimously concluded that the I3PT has an adequate structure and solid institutional support, and has assessed very positively the quality of scientific activity I la contribution to innovation and transfer to the business sector", stressed Blanch, who also wanted to highlight "the extraordinary work of our professionals who have made this milestone possible".
The I3PT was born in 2015, and with only six years of experience it achieved recognition as a CERCA center in 2021, by the Generalitat de Catalunya. This 2023 has achieved this important accreditation for the institution, which currently has nearly 500 professionals dedicated to research and support for research and innovation. The vast majority of staff combine scientific activity with healthcare, which facilitates the detection of clinical needs in the hospital and the effective implementation of innovative solutions for the patient and society.
