Innovation in health is only effective if it responds to people's needsWith this premise, the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) held the conference this Wednesday “Health innovation with impact: Your voice counts”. The event, framed within the Biocat's BCN Health Innovation Week, has served to create a space for debate on how to adapt innovation initiatives in digital health and medical technology to the concerns and expectations of citizens.

The event revolved around the presentation of the IDICIUS project, promoted by researcher Marc Fradera within the framework of the suicide prevention research line led by Diego Palao. This program aims to develop a digital platform to monitor and predict the risk of suicide in mental health patients. The initiative seeks to generate new scientific knowledge to promote the digitalization of the healthcare system, incorporating evidence-based tools for the prevention of suicide risk and patient monitoring.

After the presentation, a participation space to gather the needs, concerns and opinions of attendees about mental health, suicide and the most effective strategies to prevent itParticipants were able to contribute their vision on how new technologies can help in the early detection and treatment of this problem.

“An innovative healthcare system must be inclusive and based on the active participation of people. We need to listen to them and understand their concerns to develop solutions that have a real impact”, said Martín León, head of the I3PT Innovation Unit and one of the main promoters of the event.

The event had a wide participation and highlighted the importance ofincorporate the voice of citizens in the health innovation processThe I3PT will continue working to collect these contributions and transform them into solutions that generate a positive impact on the health system.

"We want to promote innovation that is not only technological, but also human. Only in this way can it be truly transformative," concluded León.
