The MonQAI clinical trials project, double winner of the AI4ALL and BRING_IT programs 1080 608 Mireia Córcoles

The project MonQAI, promoted by the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT), has been recognized as one of the winning projects of the 7th edition of the AI4ALL program and the 6th edition of the BRING_IT innovation program, within the framework of the respective demodays held recently.

MonQAI is a digitalform payment aimed at hospitals, ethics and drug research committees and clinical trial promoters that use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline and optimize the clinical stages of trialsThe solution facilitates intelligent access to documentation, allows the complexity of studies to be managed and contributes to better decision-making throughout the entire process.

The project has been developed by researchers at I3PT Cruel Michael i Mariela Quesada, from the Clinical Trials area of the Pharmacy Service, Gerard Badia, data scientist in artificial intelligence at Parc Taulí, and Maria Jose Navarro, as an external collaborator expert in digital strategy and business. The initiative aims to improve the operational efficiency of clinical trials and move towards more agile, precise and patient-centered medical research.

Recognition in the AI4ALL program

MonQAI has been one of the winning projects of the AI4ALL demoday, a program promoted by the UAB Research Park, the Computer Vision Center (CVC), the UAB School of Engineering and the CSIC Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, with the aim of promoting the generation of technology and entrepreneurial projects based on AI. The program concluded with the presentation of the six projects developed throughout the edition.

Thanks to this recognition, MonQAI will be able to participate in the AI Accelerator program of the RDI-IA Network, aimed at promoting technology transfer, promoting the creation of new companies based on high-value and impact AI solutions, and retaining talent in Catalonia. Participating projects will culminate in their presentation to investors at 4YFN, in the framework of Mobile World Congress 2026.

Winning project of the BRING_IT program

At the same time, MonQAI has also been selected as the winning project of the BRING_IT demoday, the I3PT innovation program that aims to promote and support health innovation projects, accompanying them in their maturation and validation process.

An AI solution to optimize clinical trials

Clinical trials are experimental studies in people that allow the efficacy and safety of investigational drugs to be evaluated, and are subject to strict supervision by clinical research ethics committees and the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products.

In this context, MonQAI allows digitize and automate key processes through the identification of the level of complexity of the trials, detection of risk signals and generation of intelligent recommendationsThe platform offers real-time monitoring, alerts and predictive reports that facilitate early detection of risks and improve control, security and quality of studies.

Among the main benefits, MonQAI allows you to achieve a 45% savings in administrative costsa whirlpool bath, reduction of between 30 and 50% in protocol deviations and non-conformities, and one 30% improvement in activation times and bureaucratic stagesCurrently, the project is at a technological maturity level of TRL 3.
