The Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) has been present at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) and the 4YFN (Four Years From Now) to highlight its potential in biomedical innovation and technology transfer in health.
The Institute's participation has been articulated through the intervention of the head of the Innovation Unit, Martín León, and the presentation of the innovation project MonQAI, a solution based on artificial intelligence to optimize the management of clinical trials.
MonQAI: Generative AI to transform clinical trials
This Tuesday, the MonQAI project was able to present its proposal to investors at 4YFN 2026.
MonQAI is a digital platform aimed at hospitals, drug research ethics committees and clinical trial sponsors that uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline and optimize the clinical stages of studiesThe solution facilitates intelligent access to documentation, allows the complexity of protocols to be managed and contributes to more efficient decision-making throughout the entire process.
The project has been developed by researchers at I3PT Miquel Cruel i Mariela Quesada, from the Clinical Trials area of the Pharmacy Service, Gerard Badia, scientist at Parc Taulí, and María José NAVARRO, external collaborator expert in digital strategy and business.
Thanks to being one of the winning projects of the program AI4ALL, promoted by the UAB Research Park, MonQAI has participated in theAI Accelerator of the RDI-IA Network, a program aimed at promoting technology transfer and promoting the creation of new companies based on high-value and impact AI solutions. The culmination of this program was the presentation of the MonQAI project at 4YFN with the aim of obtaining future investments to accelerate the project's arrival on the market.

Health transfer: learning from “Death Valley”
In parallel, Martín León participated in the session “Health Tech Transfer: testimonies and lessons from the Death Valley”, held at the Biocat stand, within the framework of the MWC.
The session focused on the difficulties associated with taking an idea to market in the healthcare field —the well-known “Death Valley”— based on testimonies and real experiences of transfer and valorization. In this context, Martín León has shared the learnings derived from his career in technology transfer and management of research results from a technology transfer office (OTT), providing a practical insight into the challenges, barriers and key success factors in transforming scientific knowledge into solutions with impact.
Finally, the Innovation Unit has participated in different activities promoted by the Health and Social Consortium of Catalonia (CSC) in the 4YFN. Specifically, Martin Leon, has been part of the “Pitch Workshop”, contributing their experience in the field of startups in the biomedical sector; and Anna Fosch i Judith Juan, from the same unit, have participated in the 'Pitch the Hospitals', a session of speed dating where different digital health startups present their innovations to the entities associated with the CSC.
