Presentation

iVent we are a team of professionals interested in the management and treatment of critical patients who require respiratory support. Our aim is to contribute to the improvement in the understanding of the pathophysiological principles of acute respiratory failure and the management of mechanical ventilation, thus helping the management of specific clinical problems at the bedside.

The course is developed through theoretical sessions, discussion of clinical cases and workstations.

Targets

General objectives

The general objective of the course is to improve the understanding of the pathophysiological principles of acute respiratory failure and the management of mechanical ventilation, thus helping the management of specific clinical problems at the bedside.

Specific objectives

  • Deepen the knowledge of the main ones respiratory support techniques.
  • Deepen the knowledge of the respiratory pathophysiology and the patient-ventilator interaction.
  • Acquire knowledge and skills in the main ones monitoring techniques of the critical patient with respiratory failure.
  • Update knowledge in the management of various clinical situations, from non-invasive support to post-extubation management.

Participants

The course is aimed at medical professionals related to the care of the critically ill patient, in particular those interested in deepening, expanding and/or updating their knowledge in the management of the mechanical ventilation and the respiratory failure.
